re: Raid Team: Update

Hey guys! A couple small things about those that are going for the Raid Team:

1.) Item Level

Item Level for Heroics is 329. From what I've been reading, minimum recommended Raiding Item Level is around 340. That definitely means that those expecting to raid should be putting the time into Heroic Dungeons. A few of us are Heroic ready and are aching to have a full Team Sport group to run with.

Remember, to find your Item Level, open up your Character Sheet. At the bottom right, there's a button with an arrow that will open up your Stat sheet (Agility, Hit Rating, Resilience, etc.). At the top of that list is your Item Level. If you're under 329, you cannot queue for Heroics. We're all going to push to be around 340 for raiding.

2.) Spend Time Wisely

While in regular dungeons and Heroic ones, it behooves all of us to make the most of our time in there. This means making sure you're learning the in's and out's of your character and role. You're not JUST a DPS'er, a Healer, or a Tank. Each role depends and needs the other roles and classes to help everyone else out. A few things that we'd like each class to think about while in dungeons and gearing up:

TANKING

    - Mark your targets and communicate what you want CC'd and how you want things pulled (Line of Sight, Sheep Pull, etc.)
    - When you're switching to a new target to focus, mark it with a Skull if needed.
    - Be careful of CC'd targets nearby (Thunderclap, Consecration, Swipe, Death & Decay).
    - Avoiding "tunnel vision". We all have it from WotLK. =)

DPS'ING

    - CCing targets whenever possible. Heroics, and especially Raids, require all of us to be on our toes. Try to aim for AoE'ing mobs or Healing mobs.
    - Looking for opportunities to help out the other roles. Ways to help mitigate damage on the Tank, or throwing an off-heal here and there.
    - Being ready for interrupts. The first boss in Heroic Shadowfang Keep requires pretty rigorous communication on who's interrupting when.
    - Knowing when to turn and nuke an add or pack of adds. Some adds will heal the boss, or just annihilate the group/raid. If you don't know, ask!

HEALING

    - Mana conservation. Ideally, this will come with the group obeying the mechanics of a fight or utilizing CC, but use Regen cooldowns liberally and other cooldowns (Archangel, etc) whenever you can.
    - Communication. Let the Tank know if you need them to pop a minor cooldown, or the DPS know if they should self-heal for a bit.
    - Help the other roles. Most healers have a DPS mechanic to help gain mana back. This not only refreshes your mana, but helps DPS the boss/mob.

Anyone that's been in Heroics yet knows how hard they can be. I have absolute faith that everyone can adapt to the new mechanics and be able to tear these dungeons/raids up. We have to step up our game, for sure. Help each other out, be open to suggestions, and kick ass!!! The days of "Wrath-style" are over. I'm excited that these dungeons and raids are challenging and require strategy even on trash!

Also, you'll notice to the upper-right are the new progression lists. Aaron and I are going to be gung-ho about keeping that up-to-date, as well as taking screenshots of Raid Team kills. We're not going for server first, but we do want to be known as a progression team that's on top of things. That increases recruiting, which means more opportunities for everyone!
