re: Firelands - Shannox (VIDEO)

Although the OMFGCATA video isn't around, the TankSpot 25man does a good job of showing the mechanics.

Here's my understanding of it:

-Three Targets: Rageface, Riplimb, Shannox.
-Shannox and Riplimb are tanked (cannot be taunted), Rageface is not tankable.

Rageface:

-Runs around between raid members and will start gnawing on them. The only way to stop this is to crit him for 30k+ (think the early trash in BoT). Save your big hits for making him switch members.

Riplimb:

-Needs to be kited and tanked. Will put a stacking debuff called Jagged Tear. Best way to kite him is over the Immolation and Crystal Traps.

Shannox:

-Hurls a spear that will cause damage in a certain radius.
-Sets both Immolation (Fire AOE) traps and Crystal (destroyable "tombs") traps on the ground. Stay away from all of them. They take 2 seconds to "arm". These can be used to inflict damage or "control" Rageface and Riplimp.
-Also applies Jagged Tear via a frontal cone (Tank away from raid).

Overall:

-When one of the dogs dies, Shannox gets stronger. When Shannox hits 30%, the dogs enrage (worse than Shannox's). We need to DPS the dogs down with Shannox until he's around 35-40%, then kill the dogs before killing Shannox.
-Tanks will need to clear their debuffs. The way we do that is after Shannox hurls his spear, Riplimb fetches it and brings it back. During that time, the debuff should fall off if the two of them are ~30 yards apart. Too far and they'll get "Separation Anxiety".
-Stay out of the traps, but use them to help control the dogs.
-Once both dogs are dead, it'll essentially be a burn and stay alive phase. Shannox will stop throwing his spear, and simply drive it into the ground.

Watch the video. It'll point out exactly what we're looking for.

****If anyone has ideas on a strat that might work effectively, put it in a reply below. We'd like to hit the ground running when we get there and not simply "see what happens"****
